ADS introduces BioFilter

November 15, 2021  By Bree Rody

In response to increased stormwater runoff as a result of accelerated urbanization, drainage solutions provider Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) has created the EcoPureä BioFilter urban stormwater management solution. It is engineered for low-impact developments and green infrastructure projects. The device comes in multiple sizes, with its smallest measuring four feet by eight feet and its largest at 10 feet by 20 feet.

Its design enables a water flow-rate advantage fo 60 gallons per minute, compared to similar products which, according to ADS handle 45 gallons per minute.

Independent third-party testing calculated that the EcoPure BioFilter removes 85 percent of total suspended solids and 70 percent of dissolved phosphorus.

Brian King, EVP, product management, marketing and sustainability, ADS, said in a statement, “Green infrastructure isn’t just a trend; it is a reimagination of the design process that is going to have a lasting impact on urban improvement projects. Successful low-impact developments will feature solutions customized to the unique needs of each project, local aesthetics and geographic climate zone. This doesn’t need to translate into a complex or lengthy process.”
